The Stevie Chronicles
Archive for 200612 ( return to current blog )
Monday December 4, 2006
Okay, I'm having a LOT of problems with "blogspot" (realized recently it's a beta version, so lots of glitches, evidently), so I'm going to move The Stevie Chronicles to a different site. I will keep you posted (keep you posted, ha, ha, it's a blog joke, get it?).
I told Megan that "blog" was short for "blind dog". Ha, ha, ha. Okay, so I'm easily amused. Sue me.
Anyway, I talked to Megan and she said Stevie just loves her latest toy. It's about 3 feet long and looks like a snake, but there's a head at both ends. Megan says Stevie looks so comical (of course) dragging 3 foot of toy snake behind her. It squeaks AND rattles, and she just loves the noises.
Not much other news, but, yes, Katherine, I think there may still be a few toys left over at Petsmart for Christmas. If you hurry.

Well, I guess you get what you pay for! :) Yesterday, I went to upload more photos to "The Stevie Chronicles" (http://thesteviechronicles.blogspot.com) and there was no way to do it. The little icon that allows you to upload was just gone. So I posted a short note saying I'd try again today.
Well, today, I can't even sign on right. I click on "sign in" and nothing happens. I went into the blog and posted a "Reply" to my post from yesterday and that forced me to sign on, but I still couldn't post normally. RATS!
Anyway, I've uploaded 3 new Stevie photos from today at the end of the "Stevie Goes to Austin" photo album here. I visited today and Megan and I went to Petsmart to buy a jacket, a puppy carrier (so Stevie can sit on Megan's lap and go to work with her without falling off or out or whatever) and... another new toy.
Stevie is growing, but she's still a rambunctious, wiggly, gangly puppy, so full of energy it's amazing! Today she decided that my shoelaces were a global menace that must be dealt with. That entertained her for at least 30 minutes.
She's a cutie, that's for sure. Hope I'll be able to continue posting on the blog soon...
Hugs, G

As usual, I was talking to Megan on the phone about Stevie. We talked about her puppy antics -- she has learned that she can repeatedly make her toys squeak, among other things -- and just the normal "dog stuff". The conversation went on with intermittent, "Stevie, stop it", "NO!", and "Come back here" thrown in. Then Megan's voice got kind of quiet, and she said, "Thank you." "Me?" I asked, "What for?" "For helping me get Stevie," she answered. She admitted she had been really terrified that for some reason, this whole adopting a (blind) puppy thing would not work out, that she wouldn't like Stevie, or that Stevie wouldn't bond with her. What really made her determine to adopt her in the end was that she couldn't bear the idea of Stevie ending up with somebody else. I understand that feeling... I know I feel that way about my IMPS poster boy, Newton, even though mine was after the fact.
Tonight Stevie decided to take on all the pillows on Megan's bed, all of which are 4 or 5 times bigger than she is. Megan was laughing hysterically as Stevie tugged, pulled and dragged those dangerous pillows from one end of the bed to the other. I've pretty much determined that I'll "have" to go visit again tomorrow. We're going to look for a "puppy sack" so Megan can tote Stevie around the house when she needs to keep her out of the way. Also, Stevie likes to sit on Megan's lap while she works on the computer, and Megan worries she'll fall off. Then, there's some hint that Stevie might "need" another toy...
More to come, Ginger

Wednesday, November 29, 2006 Stevie, Day 25 - Weds., Nov. 29
I forgot to tell you that when we went shopping at Petsmart on Sunday, Megan bought Stevie a new collar. She said she was not so fond of the pink one. :) I have the pink collar, leash and harness that I will send back to Cathy for her next tiny foster, ha, ha! Sooooo, what kind of collar did she get? Why, a black leather spiked collar, of course. She said, "You know it had to happen!" It's so small, it only has 5 studs and 4 spikes on it. The week before, we got a name and address tag made to go with the IMPS tag. She happily runs around, tags clinking together, looking oh, so tough with her new black leather collar on. Grrr! :) Ginger

Sunday December 3, 2006
Stevie, Day 24 - Tuesday, November 28, 2006 I spoke with Megan around 4:15 today and every other sentence began with, "stop it!" or "no!" She said that Stevie had been going nuts for about an hour and a half, running around and getting into things. I told her that was pretty much a Min Pin, just normal stuff. She said when she came home today, there were toys strewn from one end of the hallway to the other. Then Stevie decided that way more fun than toys was... newspaper!
Stevie is growing and when I saw her on Sunday, it was distinctly noticeable whereas it had not been last week. She's getting to that "gangly" all legs stage soon. I am going to try to figure out how to post photos on this site, though I notice there is a note at the top of the page that there's a "scheduled outage at 7pm PST", which is about now, so I don't know how far I'll get tonight.
Petie - IMPS founder - has mentioned putting a link to this blog on Mag's Success Stories page, so we may soon have many more folks reading about Stevie. I cracked up when Megan told me she was late for work today because she was trying to read the entire history I had posted last night... I said, but it's YOUR dog! You already know the story! She still had to read it and was most interested in the responses from folks in our TX IMPS group, which she had not seen.
Stay tuned for more Stevie updates.
