I can't believe that my last post was New Year's Day this year. Where DOES the time go?
Stevie will soon be 3 years old. It seems it was only yesterday that Megan and I drove to Waco to meet Cathy Heurmann (I know I'm spelling that wrong) and pick Stevie up to go home with Megan. Megan saw how small Stevie was and freaked. Now here we are, about 2 1/2 years later, and Megan can't imagine not having Stevie around. This avowed "cat person" even talks about buying a house with a yard so she can become a foster mom for IMPS (Internet Miniature Pinscher Service, the Min Pin rescue group I work with and from whom Megan adopted Stevie. So much has happened since the adoption. Potty training, leash training, sit/stay (she's better at sit than stay), up and down stairs...
We've done all the same things with Stevie that you would do with a sighted dog. And she still doesn't know she's blind. And she still weighs just under 5 lbs. And is as feisty as ever. And, if possible, even cuter.
I will try to do updates on a more timely basis, but life often gets in the way of the blog. I hope all of you Stevie fans are well. If you are ever in need of a 4-legged companion, I hope you will adopt rather than buy, and may your adoptions be rewarded with as much love, laughter and bonding as that between Megan and Stevie.
